2 July 2009: The annual New Zealand garden bird survey is now on, ending Sunday 5 July. Join us by recording all the birds at one site in one hour. For instructions and data entry (and results from past years), see http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/research/biocons/gardenbird/.
26 February 2009: Our apologies to those of you who were incovenienced by the website going down for a few days. We worked with our server provider and have tracked down and dealt with the offending glitch.
9 December 2008: The New Zealand Ecological Society offers its condolences to the family of renowned ecologist, Peter Wardle, who died this weekend in Arthurs Pass National Park. Among many other things, Peter was author of "Vegetation of New Zealand", a modern classic, and an expert on the ecology of tree lines.
